All therapy options at a glance

Depending on your child’s symptoms, an alternative form of therapy may be advisable. In order to find the right therapy for your child, I will discuss and plan the various treatment options together with you and your child.

All therapy recommendations are geared toward the standards of the expert child psychiatric associations DGKJP and IACAPAP as well as the AWMF.

  • Behavioral therapy for children and adolescents

Behavioral therapy has proven to be an effective treatment for many disorders. It enables young people to benefit from many cognitive and emotion-based methods. Activities such as drawing, visualization, and play make it easier for younger children to express themselves and open up.

  • Modern psychotherapy methods

In addition to behavioral therapy, other modern psychotherapy methods can be used in treating your child. These include IFS – internal family system therapy, MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) & self compassion, work with mentalization, imagination techniques, TRIMB – gentle trauma recapitulation, or VIT – parent-child interaction therapy as well as the use of new media.

  • Forms of therapy for parents and children

As parents, there is a lot that you can do to ensure that your child is well. That’s why it is often useful to include you as parents in the therapy. I will happily support you with a family therapy, parent-child therapy, or parent coaching.

  • Cooperation with special therapists

It is often useful to use different therapy procedures during treatment. I am also happy to put you in contact with qualified special therapists and other specialist doctors. These can include child neurologists, ergotherapists, and physiotherapists.

  • Drug treatment

In some situations, drug therapy can form the bridge to further measures and ultimately lead to treatment success. My specialist competence makes it possible for me to include effective medications in the treatment, e.g., in the case of depression or ADHD. I place great importance here on carefully monitoring that such medication is well-tolerated, also in terms of physical development. Dietary supplements and vitamins can also have a positive effect on the psychological condition and development of your child.
